Like a call from the land, the boss of Chubby Rabbit came to Taitung from Europe, being drawn in by the flavors of the ocean and valley. After living in Taitung for a long time, the owner reminisces about the home-style Italian flavors. Missing the authentic aromas of Italian cuisine, the owner wanted to recreate it here in Taitung. There are three types of exquisite pasta sauces including oyster mushroom cream sauce, tomato and pork sauce, as well as pesto sauce. The sauces are not oily and spout an enchanting exotic style. Fishing Seasonal Cuisine
The simple Japanese style design vaguely revealed the good taste and delicate cuisine of this store. Their menu not only has sashimi, yakimono and agemono, but also chef’s tasting menu which requires reservation. The sashimi in seafood donburi is quite delicate. Big mouthful of fish oil smell solidly breaks into the heart of customers. The solid taste with lots of stuffing makes the delicate meal become quite friendly. Steamed Pork, karaage chicken, grilled salty chicken in the signature dishes which have crispy feeling of hard within soft, will definitely not be put to shame. Dark Black Italian Bistro
It is located in the Old Factory Park of Taiwan Sugar Corp. with gray old concrete wall, which is always especially suitable for matching the wooden decoration. Black chairs and iron bar represent modern and simple and wooden wall and concrete wall represent nostalgic and elegant. The fusion come into view especially makes one feel that time stands still and seems that the only remedy is to enjoy the present. Delicacies such as chicken salad and spaghetti with white wine are provided in the store; what’s more, there are all kinds of foreign wine such as strong and grand German smoked beer and elegant 1964 French white wine that passes through many decades. Although the name of the store is Uncle Pizza, he is a very talented young man who often plays music and sings in the store. The store design is in orange and green, which is filled with warmth and fusion of Chinese and western architectural style, and the paintings on the wall are all from Pete. His pizza is also known as one of the best in Taitung. The paste is well and professionally kneaded, with rich and delicious fillings on top, along with the creamy cheese to make the taste wonderful. 14-inch pizza is only made after the order is taken, which may be replaced with double-flavor as your wish. There is such an American burger shop at No.727 Kaifeng Street, Taitung City. The store features American-designed wooden compartment with a large blackboard where there are doll graffiti of chalk illustration to teach you how to eat their big burgers. The special meal of the shop is “Sam did not eat burger (the burger sounds like full in Chinese) for three days,” representing sound of characters. The fat and thick bacon, solid beef chops and rich cheese satisfies all diners eager for burgers. Sailfish is one of the most famous products in Chenggong, with medium-rare sailfish tail as the ultimate specialty. Jin Dien Canteen – Japanese Restaurant
Under the soft light, we are surrounded by the Japanese advertising and posters on the wall. This old building has turned into a Japanese style store, giving us the illusion of standing in the Japanese izakaya.
Donburi and Japanese set meal are the signature dishes here; for the set meal, we highly recommend the Teriyaki chicken leg with rice – the boneless chicken leg with crispy skin covered with the Teriyaki sauce which creates the authentic taste.
Jia Hui Vietnamese Restaurant
As the restaurant owner always insists on providing customers with the best quality food, Jia Hui Vietnamese Restaurant uses the freshest ingredients, delivered directly from the farmer’s market. Their signature Vietnamese pork knuckle is cooked with carrots, radishes, and pork bones for 2 hours to make the broth nice and sweet. The whole dish looks white and bouncy, which is very different from a typical Taiwanese braised pork knuckle.
Yummy 2 offers plenty of dishes, such as pizza, pasta, burritos, baked rice, salad, and even roasted pork knuckle. But if we had to name the local favorites, we would recommend their baked mashed potatoes, their chicken salad, and their Mexican burritos.
